What we’re about
Solstice Symphony Orchestra brings together exceptional volunteer musicians from across the Seattle region to create ambitious, high-quality orchestral performances outside the traditional season. What began as a summer festival has grown into a broader artistic project — one that explores new collaborations, new repertoire, and new ways of connecting musicians and audiences throughout the year.
At its core, Solstice is about community. Our musicians volunteer their time because they believe in the joy and power of live orchestral music, and in making it accessible to a wide audience. By presenting thoughtfully curated programs at approachable price points, we aim to create performances that feel welcoming, vibrant, and deeply engaging. Solstice adds a distinctive voice to Seattle’s musical landscape — one rooted in artistic excellence, collaboration, and the simple conviction that great music deserves to be shared.
Want to join?
Invites for our Summer 2026 festival will be sent out in the early spring. Until then, we are happy to get in contact with any talented local musician. If you’re interested in joining Solstice in the future, please fill out this form, and we’ll be in touch.
Please note that we are seeking applicants who are comfortable preparing advanced repertoire at an accelerated pace.
